URA OPEN
The concept store “裏 (Ura)” will open on October 7, 2023 at the back of Jingumae Building in Harajuku, Tokyo.
Insideout ltd.’s Hiroto Kubo was in charge of designing the interior, which features impressive fixtures that fly out to the outside of the store.
The interior is a minimalist space with a sense of unity with the outside, with LED screens, glass, mirrors, and contrasting amounts of black and white.
The interior was constructed by Ishimaru and Mihotani Glass.
At the opening of the store, shoes from the “General Scale” line, which takes into account environmental and social responsibility from a multifaceted perspective, will be on sale.
The first original herbal tea brand “TEAMORROW” is scheduled to be launched in the spring of 2024, featuring herbal tea recipes created for “TEAMORROW” by “WHITETREE,” a wellness and beauty brand from Singapore.
In addition, lifestyle goods by Ryosuke Uehara of KIGI, the art director of “Ura”, will be available in the future.

「General Scale」
A line launched in 2021 that takes into account social responsibility from multiple perspectives.
Focusing on boots and sneakers made of eco-friendly materials, the line also offers plant pots made of recycled materials and apparel made in collaboration. Edit05 was launched. in June 2023.
「TEAMORROW」
Our first original herbal tea brand to be launched in spring 2024. The wellness and beauty brand “WHITETREE” from Singapore blended herbs for “TEAMORROW”. Using 100% medical herbs with medicinal effects, we sell herbal teas that have been blended to suit the physical concerns of modern people, and that can be enjoyed by customers. The tea canisters in the store are made by Kaikado in Kyoto. We have a special lineup of tea caddies, carefully selected with their craftsmanship.
「WHITETREE」
A wellness and beauty brand from Singapore offering phytotherapy herbal teas to help people to become healthier and more beautiful. The medical herbal teas made from organic herbs are used as in-patient meals in general hospitals based in Singapore, and are also being used in high-class spas such as 6-star hotels. Currently, WHITETREE’s herbal teas are available in 6 countries around the world. They use carefully selected ingredients from all over the world, including Chinese herbal medicines, Japanese herbal medicines, Ayurvedic herbs, and oriental herbs, to create recipes that are easy to drink and delicious.
*Phytotherapy (phytotherapy): The act of using plants to promote the natural healing powers of humans to improve the condition of the body and to prevent illness.
「Kaikado」
Kyoto Kaikado is a long-established manufacturer of tea caddies, founded in 1875. Kaikado has been recognized as one of the finest tea canisters in Japan and abroad, and even now, more than 140 years after its founding, the company continues to make tea canisters while maintaining the methods used since the company’s founding. Kaikado’s tea caddies are both useful and beautiful, and when you carefully stroke the entire caddy with the palm of your hand, the color of the material changes over time, and the luster and gloss of the material become apparent. One of the charms of tea caddies is that you can enjoy the beauty that increases with time. they sell tea caddies that have undergone more than 130 processes and are the result of craftsman’s skill and sensitivity.
「KIGI」
Founded in 2012 by Ryosuke Uehara and Yoshie Watanabe. In addition to art direction for companies and brands, they are involved in design content for the product brand KIKOF and the fashion brand CACUMA with Hobonichi. They also run a gallery/store “OFS.TOKYO” in Ikejiri, Tokyo, and started a new product label “ASSEMBLEDISASSEMBLE” including eyewear “TWO FACE” in 2022. A large-scale solo exhibition “KIGIWORK & FREE” was held at the Utsunomiya Museum of Art in 2017 and exhibited “Standing Sake Bar – Yoigoma” at the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2018. All is graphics” exhibition in 2022 at Daikanyama Hillside Forum, Daikanshaku, Tokyo.
「Ryosuke Uehara」
Born in Hokkaido in 1972. Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Design, Textile Course. As a creative director and art director, he is engaged in a wide range of design activities, including art direction for companies and brands, and graphic and space design. Many of his works have been highly acclaimed at design awards in various countries, and he has received numerous awards both in Japan and abroad.
