I had fallen asleep on the train

Darkness outside the window was there, obviously,

and its emptiness inside was telling me that I missed my station.

“Let’s get off at the next stop, I need to go back.”

As the thought ran into my head, the train slowed down gradually.

The light on the platform was blurred.

The station name sank beyond the haze.

There was no clue as to where I was.

Lately, my sight had been getting blurry.

I knew it was because of my age.

The world lost its contours and was softly melting away.

I must get off. I knew.

But my body won’t rise from the seat.

And, the anxiety and loneliness filled my heart just moments ago

stayed but was still like water in a tank.

Not growing more.

I was unable to get off this train.

Where it was headed.

Where the destination was.

They were not my concern anymore.

The train started moving again.

To its next stop.

Continue moving forward in this unseen place.

That was now, my only hope.
